The Modern Offers New Flexibility Through Online Programs

The Modern College of Design is proud to announce that they will offer their first fully-online Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs this fall starting on August 24, 2020.

Online students will have the opportunity to maximize their creativity and prepare for successful careers in the design industry from the security and comfort of their own homes or anywhere that has internet access. Courses will be offered in an asynchronous format that allows students to access classes 24/7 through Canvas, a sophisticated online platform that makes engaging in course material convenient for students. Students will receive the equipment and software they need to be successful including an Apple MacBook Pro, iPad, a subscription to the Adobe Creative Suite, and much more. Flexible full-time and part-time options are available. Students can earn an Associate’s Degree in Design or complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Design Leadership in as little as 16 months.

Led by Chief Academic Officer Korinne Toadvine, expert instructors who have been integral to the success of The Modern’s nationally recognized, on-ground programs have completed online training and developed programs specifically for talented students who need flexibility in earning degrees and launching their careers. Students will receive feedback and one-on-one support from instructors throughout the online programs, and they will have the opportunity to connect with classmates through Canvas.

The Modern’s extensive online library and academic services including advising, tutoring, and counseling will be accessible to new online students. The Modern’s career services team will also provide assistance to students and graduates throughout their careers.

“The Modern’s new Online Associate’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs will allow students to balance family, work, and student life and give them the flexibility to engage with the curriculum when it’s most convenient for them,” shared President Jessica Barry. “By making our programs more accessible, we hope to expand access to more students who have the potential to become leaders in the design industry.”

The Modern is awarding over $1.5M in merit- and need-based scholarships and grants to eligible students for the fall semester.
