Before the first day of classes, The Modern community gathered for Break the Ice, a tradition that welcomes both new and returning students and sets the tone for the semester ahead.
The Modern's Design Leadership students took the lead in guiding the event. They kept conversations moving, acted as mentors to new students, and had a chance to practice their leadership skills.
The heart of the Break the Ice event was about creating connections. Faculty, staff, and students came together to share conversations, enjoy activities, and begin the semester in a welcoming and supportive environment. By the end of the event, students felt more at ease, more connected, and ready to call The Modern their community.
