Two Design Leadership students, Logan Hill and Angelica Weimer, from The Modern, were named to GDUSA Magazine’s influential “Students to Watch” list for 2020. GDUSA is a national graphic design publication. Other students recognized on the list attend colleges such as Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Logan Hill is from West Chester, Ohio and specializes in branding, package design, and UI/UX design. According to the article from GDUSA, Logan stated, “I fully submerge myself in the process, whether I spend hours researching or sketching in my Field Notes — it’s all or nothing. I want my designs to not only leave an impression but to inspire others to pursue their passion or other life goals.” Outside of being a full-time Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program student, Logan likes to go antiquing and keep up with his favorite podcasts; Talk is Jericho or Beyond the Darkness.
Angelica Weimer is from Bellville, Ohio and according to her GDUSA interview, her favorite aspect of design is communication. “I love impacting others and sparking emotion. I want to help spread positivity with my talents and help improve the world.” Angelica specializes in UI/UX design and traditional art. Outside of her current classes in the Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program, Angelica works as a freelance designer and enjoys spending time creating traditional artwork, hiking, and quality time with her cats.
“Angelica and Logan are students with incredible work ethic, they are passionate about design, and they consistently produce outstanding work,” shared Jessica Barry, president of The Modern. “We’re thrilled that GDUSA’s readers across the country will get introduced to these two top students. Some of The Modern’s former “Top Students” received job offers after being included on this list; it’s an honor that is noticed.”
