The Modern Kicks Off $1M in Investments

[KETTERING, OH, 5/22/19] – Last week The Modern kicked off its first of three upcoming projects, which will total $1M in investments for the college. The first project, a $300K expansion of its south parking lot, will add 43 new spaces to campus. The extra parking is necessary to accommodate students in The Modern’s new Bachelor of Arts in Design Leadership program starting this August.

Other investments over the summer include the rollout of a new $400K campus management system and a $300K upgrade of the college’s server. The campus management information system will allow students easier access to academic records and grades with an additional layer of security for their information. The upgrade of the server will allow for faster connection speeds. Starting in August, all incoming students will utilize new iPads for coursework. These will be in addition to the MacBook Pros that students are already required to use.

“It’s exciting to keep investing in the college because all these improvements are for our students,” stated President Jessica Barry. “We want to remove barriers so students have every opportunity to succeed: here at college and then in the workforce.”
