The Modern’s Graduate and Instructor Win National Advertising Awards

[KETTERING, OH, 6/7/19] – The American Advertising Federation announced the winners of its American Advertising Awards Competition tonight in Hollywood, Florida. The Modern’s recent graduate, Bryce Herbst, won a silver award for his Union 17 Brewing Label design. The college’s instructor, Andy Sharpe, won a silver award for his freelance work with Fifth Street Brewpub and its brand refresh. This was the final phase of the three-tier national competition.

According to the organization, the American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. Selection of the most creative entry in each category is affected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry.

“We are extremely proud of Bryce and Andy being recognized at the highest level of the American Advertising Awards,” stated Jessica Barry, President of The Modern. “It is such an honor to have our one of our graduates and instructors recognized for their extraordinary talent in design.”
