The Modern Evolves into a Baccalaureate Institution

[KETTERING, OH, 11/1/18] – The Modern College of Design announced today that it received final approval from its accreditor, ACCSC, and will begin offering its first-ever Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program in Design Leadership in August of 2019.

The Modern’s newest program offering is expected to add 20 faculty and staff jobs and over 200 new students to the Kettering area over the next five years. To accommodate these students, the college continues to pursue building on-campus housing in Kettering.

President Jessica Barry commented, “After three years of development, we are thrilled to release a program that not only strengthens students’ design skills, but also increases their knowledge of entrepreneurship, leadership, and strategy.  Graduates from this program will strengthen the Dayton creative community and the national design industry for generations to come.”

The Modern is awarding nearly $350,000 in institutional awards for the Bachelor’s Completion Program. Eligible students could earn up to $40,000 in need and merit-based awards.

“We’ve already had considerable interest in the program and will begin accepting applications on January 1, 2019,” shared Barry.
